Christmas Day!

This was a record year for the latest the Rife's have ever slept in on Christmas morning! We didn't wake up until 7 AM. When I was a kid we would pile on Mom and Dad's bed around 5 AM and go see what Santa brought at 6 AM.

It was cute to listen to Connor wake up Abby, Andrew, and Michael, "Abby, wake up it's Christmas!" We then went up to Mom and Dad's room to pile on their bed. Us kids always fill their stockings with their favorite goodies, so it's fun to give them their stockings to see what "Santa" brought them. Before we get to go see what Santa brought us kids we all kneel and have prayer of gratitude to our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. After that it was time to line up! We line up shortest to tallest and head into the family room.

Trevor and I were so spoiled! We got a new camera, we both got a new pair of shoes, a fun book of ideas for FHE, money, and a few other fun things. We really appreciate all that we got for Christmas from my parents. Probably one of the best parts of Christmas morning was watching Andrew go crazy with opening the presents. He wanted to open ALL presents and it was hard to stop him. As he would open it, even if it was just the box, he would gasp with excitement. It was the cutest thing.

I love watching everyone open their gifts and seeing their reactions. My dad wanted to really spoil my mom this year, so he took us girls shopping with him to get her some cute stuff and we went a little crazy! Seriously, I have the cutest dad.

After we finished opening presents we went down to my cousin's house for breakfast. We always have egg casserole and cinnamon rolls. My cousin Brent called while we were there from his mission in Brazil. It was good to talk to him for a minute. It's crazy to think he'll be back home in August, and I will have been married for two years!

We headed home to get showered before we went to see the movie Sherlock Holmes. I really enjoyed the movie. It was a little dark, but in the end it all made sense and was a pretty cool movie. Plus, I LOVE Rachel McAdams.

After the movie we just hung out at my parents house. The Hammer's came down with their Christmas surprise, Boston (a Golden Retriever puppy). He is such a cute puppy! All of the cousins came back up for left overs from the Christmas Eve dinner and then we just hung out.

We had a great Christmas! We have such wonderful families and we are so grateful for the traditions that we have and that we will be able to share with our own family someday.
