Tuesday with the Buchanans

Early on Tuesday morning Trevor and I rode the train down to the city with Alan. After that we rode the subway to Battery Park. We didn't ride the ferry or anything, but we did see the Statue of Liberty. We then walked down Wall Street which was really cool, went in the Trinity church (where part of the National Treasure was filmed.) After that we walked down to the World Trade Center Site. We ate at a cafe across the street from where the Twin Towers were, the same building it is in is one of the places where those escaping the events of 9/11 hid in for protection. It was really neat to be there. It feel so much more real when you are there and made me sad.

{That's the Statue of Liberty, far in the distance}

{This was in Battery Park, it used to be displayed at the World Trade Center and is now there as a reminder of the unity our country felt}

Later that afternoon Laura took us to the airport to head home. We were sad to say goodbye, but luckily she'll be in Utah December 16th! We had so much fun with the Buchanans. I am so happy that Trevor got to know Laura and Alan better and see what an amazing woman Laura is. We bonded with the kids. Got to see the beautiful New York fall colors. And Trevor was successful in business. It was a great trip! A big thank you to the Buchanans for their hospitality!
